Amaou strawberry (one of the famous kinds of Japanese strawberry) was named after combining the first letter of the following words. “Akai (red)”, “Marui (round)”, “Ookii (big)” and “Umai (delicious)” and rose to fame with its appearance and good taste. A defining characteristic of these strawberries is its high juice content, though the fruit skin is a little harder. Amaou strawberry sweetened bean paste was made by using a generous amount of puree made from these strawberries, so it is fresh with a slight sourness – the strawberry flavor packs a punch. The luxurious, decadent flavor is complimented with its deep pink in color.
