Greeting from the President
Akanemaru is a sweetened bean paste retailer established in Showa 15 (1940).
Our company came into being in Showa 15, just as Japan was being pulled into war.
In May of our first year, sugar distribution was rationed and the procurement of raw materials were barely affordable. However, many from that time report that all Akanemaru employees united to keep the company together and the factory operating. Such has always been our desire to deliver a delicious sweet bean paste that touches the heart of the Japanese people.
In more recent years, Akanemaru has added to its history as a food manufacturer by including sweetened bean pastes for professional-use and our five-color “Akanemaru Goshoku” Anko pancakes to our repertoire. As always, the best selected beans are used for our pastes.
Going forward, we intend to work hard on new and better product creation for an expanding market. We hope we can continue to receive your kind cooperation and support.

History
| 1940 (Showa 15) | Founded in Kuwazu, Higashisumiyoshi-ku, Osaka as Hojo Brewery, limited company. During the war, operations were suspending owing to shortage of sugar. Continued with development and manufacture of sweetened bean paste-related products, focusing on Azuki beans. After war, opened manufacturing factory in Nandaimon-Yoko, Shitennoji, Tennoji-ku. |

Dainagon Co., Ltd. Tokyo Manufacturing Factory acquired and introduced ISO22000 certification. ISO22000 is an international safety standard that delivers safe and secure food to consumers.
We hold a study session once a month with all manufacturing staff to deepen our knowledge on ISO22000 and to review the manufacturing process.
